So after seeing the 'Cutest Dog' competition, I had to enter Jack.

First of all, because he is adorable and I love him.

Secondly, because if he were to win a weekly prize it would help with an upcoming vet bill.
Jack has an umbilical hernia... the people who were going to take him gave him back because they didn't want to deal with getting it fixed. It's a relatively simple surgical procedure, and the vet will do it when we take him to get neutered. It will nearly double the cost of the neutering, though, and we've been stressing with figuring out how to pay for it since we're also planning (and paying for) our wedding on the 19th of September.

This isn't a life or death thing as NO MATTER WHAT we will find a way to pay for Jack's surgery (it doesn't hurt him, but it does need to be fixed because it can cause complications)... just a fun way to see if we could lighten the load a little

Winning even the weekly contest seems to be tough, so if you could vote for him (you can vote once a day!) and pass it on that would be great... after all, I think he definitely IS the cutest dog ever!

There's a loong story behind this that I just don't feel up to repeating again.

Basically, though, I haven't had a fully functioning computer since early May... thus I've been a little sparse on the internets. Still not 100%, it's going back into the shop as soon as a part arrives, but I at least have internet (and not a whole lot else!) for a few days so I thought I'd update and give word that I still live!

The upside to this is that I've had plenty of time where procrastinating with the computer hasn't been an option, so I'll have new paintings ready when all the repairing is finally complete.

I logged in today and looked at my messages and nearly fell out of my chair!

Thank you so so much for suggesting me for a DD and for featuring Oblivion! This is unbelievably cool!! I'm working my way through the comments and faves, so THANK YOU everybody. This really made my morning, and I'm almost without words to describe how totally and completely pleased I am~

All moved, oh the frantic hideousness of it all. That's got to be the downside of being a (traditional medium) artist.... I have so many art supplies and related stuff to move! It took forever, and setting things back up takes twice as long!

The studio is very nearly all set up, just a few more cupboards to put together; I should be back in business for Monday! I can't wait to work in my new space~

Well, rather suddenly moving! Which is excellent, because I'll have -much- more space to paint and better light. The down side is that we have less than a week to do it...

Hopefully I'll get back to working on the current piece shortly and have a much better set up for new work. I do have a miniature painting ready to post, but want to wait until after the show it's in is over, so bear with me. A second miniature (just for fun!) is in progress as well.
